Can't believe that was 2 years ago.

Anyway, I had done some Dark Ages inspired doodles, and dunno.. can't really show them to anyone cause no one knows what I'm talking about anymore..i.e. my friends.

Okay, so, my "artwork" isn't really what you guys would call art, I suppose.. I do portraits that are meant to look like they are actually of a DarkAges character, doing all sorts of weird and crazy things the DarkAges characters cant actually do. I hand draw this portraits in Paint Shop Pro 7 pixel by pixel, though, so I would consider it art.. in tis own way. I've been thinking for awhile about doing a large piece of lots of DarkAges characters and submitting it for Artist Recognition.. but I want to know if you all think that it would be applicable or if it is not classic-art-ish enough. Here are a few good examples:

[image]

my website/gallery is http://www.vividness.net/gallery

There's an album in there that shows how I do my portraits in case anybody has any doubts ^^;

what do you all think? is it artist-recognition worthy? :o

 Face Lesson 01
« Result #8 on Nov 3, 2007, 6:47pm »

Ah... the face. It seems so complex and yet so simple. Well, it is. Its features while simple have a careful proportion that makes it so beautiful. Its expressions are endless and communicate so much. Let's begin to learn how its constructed so that we can create better characters who can really communicate who they are through their face and expression.

((This hits on more realistic proportions and features. Please go to http://pictars.com/users/JonnyTruant/Face%20Lesson%2001.jpg
to see the lesson.))

Please post your drawings. If you like, I'll be happy to give suggestions which may improve your technique. I know mine isn't perfect, but what I do know may help you.

Thank you and I hope you enjoy the lesson.

This is something I'm still working on for my PlanetDA contest entry. Just a quick photograph, not a finished product.
