or.. check this out its the link to my contest entry, pretty much a waste of time, wish i would have known the rules have changed dramaticly, oh well, it was just fun to make, and I made it for myself, a nice piece of music I compose accompanies the short sequence.

Well, I don't know what standards you're talking about.. but if it requires me to live up to the expectations of someone who is critizing my work, than I don't see the sense in being an artist, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and art is art.. I don't believe there is a standard to live by.. or am I misunderstanding something?

Sorry to spoil your bananas, but some certain standards are objective; line quality, proportions, color usage, etc. Subjective enjoyment isn't the rod by which pieces are measured. A parent will truly love a piece drawn by their 3 year old who will swear up and down that it's Superman, even though it's little more than a few squigly red and blue lines. On the other hand, works by people who put a great deal of effort and practice into their works get recognized for it by a broader audience of peers.

I like the stuff you do. It's fun and imaginative. If you put a lot of practice into your work, you can attain a quality which will also get votes. In the end, all that really matters is if you have fun with it. By your own mouth, you do. So whatever is said, never stop. Just draw and have fun with it. And keep submitting! I like seeing more people post their art here. It's horrible when this site goes to waste. Sadly, I've not been able to as I would like... =(

Anyway, I had done some Dark Ages inspired doodles, and dunno.. can't really show them to anyone cause no one knows what I'm talking about anymore..i.e. my friends.
